The Stones

India is such a big part of my life it seems only natural that I source my gemstones from the heart of India's jewellery world, Jaipur. I work with two families who have passed down their knowledge of gemstones and craftsmanship through the generations.  Through my years in India I have got to know the families I work with and this has allowed me to create small collections of unique and beautiful designs.

Below is information about some of the stones we use in the EsmeLoves designs.

Rose Quartz - Rose quartz is known for Love, it is a stone of the heart, a Crystal of Unconditional Love. It carries a soft feminine energy of compassion and peace, tenderness and healing, nourishment and comfort. We have used rose quartz in many of our pieces, we think it is a lovely stone and hold such significance for love.

Rainbow moonstone - This stone intensifies your feminine 'Goddess' energy, this is a wonderful crystal with a vibration that will assist women to recognise and embrace their innate personal power. It is a nurturing stone, opening the heart to love and when worn, catches the light beautifully.

Blue Chalcedony - This is a calming stone, bringing a sense of stillness to the stresses and chaos of daily life. It promotes kindness and compassion and it aids one in being more positive, conscious and clear in one’s communications. It brings balance to body and mind.

Other stones used:

Blue Tanzanite - Tanzanite is a very rare and beautiful stone.  Originally, the Masai gave their wives Tanzanite jewellery following the birth of their first child as a symbol of new beginnings, it is also thought to slow down the ageing process.

Welo Opal - From Ethiopia the opal is believed to hold a karmic quality that whatever the wearer gives out, they will receive. It is a stone that brings luck and love to the wearer and is known to be one of the more powerful stones out there. It stronger the fire in the stone the more powerful the moment.

Care and compassion for the stones.

Please note that all gemstones need care and attention. Be careful to not knock them against hard surfaces as stones may become dislodged. Each stone is a natural product which may result in subtly differing looks in the stones advertised in the images. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals on the gemstones, and take care not to get them wet. If you wish to clean you stone, use gentle soap and water. Please note that washing a gold plated or rose gold plated item in water will cause the plating to fade.

All jewellery is made with sterling silver and with 18 carat gold and rose gold micron 1 plating. Plating does fade when worn in water, sprayed with perfumes and air pollutants.  When not worn, silver can often tarnish if left in the open. Please ensure to keep all jewellery in a sealable air tight bag or container to prevent the ageing of the items.

All jewellery can be sold with a higher micron of plating. If you would like your item with a higher micron then please get in touch for pricing options.

Options are available for 9 carat, 18 carat gold, prices available on request.

Please note - the EsmeLoves baby bangle contains small pieces which may become detached if pulled over periods of time. We strongly recommend that any child under the age of 3 is not left wearing the bangle without adult supervision and that all jewellery is removed before sleeping.
